oh man. my friends and I made a cover album of The Milk-Eyed Mender a couple of months ago (with a different person tackling each song) in hopes of giving it to her so that we could experience in person just how adorable she is. but the stupid cleveland crowd was so volatile that she ran into her tour bus pretty much immediately after the show. we had to settle on giving it to her accordian player. wonder if she ever got it?
Some of the songs are incredible, some of them a bit on the sloppy side. Really it was a personal project so it was amazing to hear the amount of love that people put into each song, even if the actual song didn't turn out so hot. Especially awesome were my buddy Abe's shoegaze version of Inflammatory Writ and my friend Chloe's solo piano turn at Book of Right On that made it sound like part of the Amelie soundtrack.
Just in case anyone was wondering: I also feel the least clumsy when I'm earth bound (especially compared to when I'm fire-bound), though I'm not very good at jumping from rock to rock. It suddenly seems like these things are only appropriate coming from Joanna.
"Sometimes when I'm walking down the street, oh oh, I hear a song, and I just love the beat, and I want to tell all my friends."
The stuff I post is typically for sampling purposes only. If you like what you hear go out and support the artist and buy their stuff and KEEP INDIEPOP ALIVE! If you are totally sure you want something removed, please contact me. If you're not completely sure, you should probably sleep on it and then see how you feel in the morning.
