i was wondering if you (or anyone!) have any suggestions for a boy who likes good indie rock with good lyrics and not too poppy (but just poppy enough)?

Clearly the video is about how Caroline is a victim. Duh. Notice how she is overweight, not as pretty as Kate Nash, does myspace photo poses, and uses a computer. This song is Kate Nash telling nerd she's cooler than them.

I think Caroline is actually her friend - perhaps it's slightly ironic...perhaps something about being a fahion victim as the clothes are a bit eighties-tastic.
I think this song is what sets her apart from all the other multitude of artists out there - Nicest Thing is great to listen to - but it's no where near as original as this or Dickhead.

This song is great, but she kind of rubs people's noses in it that she's cooler than them.

Killar...
basically Kate thinks Caroline's sad. which is correct, I suppose.

Well if Kate is gloating that she's cooler than some teenage myspace scene-girl then that is pretty sad too I'm afraid...

Victim of pop culture...? With Kate just being a well dressed narrator?

The beat on this song is 'killar'. Reminds me of a less posh version of M.I.A (come on...we all know M.I.A shops at Waitrose and visits Starbucks on a obsessively regular basis).

I think kate is great, but she does tow the line of the 'vernacular dialect' (although it's mostly put on, in the same way that the english pop stars sing in american accents), anti-romatic lyric probably most notably exemplified by the arctic monkeys, kaiser chiefs, followed by Lilly A and Jamie T (holding hands probably), it's nice to hear people talking about "real life" going down to tescos, and expressing themselves without metaphor, simile etc, but it is just a fashion. Maybe this video does send up the myspace scenester teenage girl mode, but at least someone is holding up a mirror. It is unavoidable that teenagers, with increasing disposable income, the proliferation of visual stimulus, tv, net, heat mag etc! form themselves into fashion tribes. It is a bit sad really - youth is a victim. But then again its just a pop song cleverly drawing on current trends. However, i would argue Kate's vocal range and ability is quite clear, she can sing, the choice of this song as a single perhaps denies what she's really good at, but its damn fine propaganda.

i think you are all missing the point of kate she is a fantastic singer who isnt afraid to choose a song that is different to everyone eles!!
as for the song caroline is a real person she is one of kates close friends lol and i think she has fabulous dress sense. she is telling caroline that she should be different and not follow the crowd and basicaly if you think badly of your self than you are a victim !!
btw i luv kate nash !!!!

Okay seeing as I am the girl the song is about/in the video I think I should clear up what the song is about. Yeah, I am a mate of Kate's and she wrote it as a joke because I was obsessed with The Killers and Killers fans call themselves Victims. I don't actually dress like in the video AT ALL, I had a stylist because it's a music video and I was playing an over-the-top version of all these New Rave people. It's just mildly poking fun at the MySpace generation where teens make friends on the internet when they don't speak to the people who live down their street. And I hate to be vain, but I'm wearing bare layers there (hey, I'm still 'overweight', just not as obese as I look in the video).

Just to clear it all up. And I was surprised more than anyone she chose it as a single. There's loads of reasons she choose this as the first single that I'm not going to get into because it's well long.

I'm a very good friend of kates, and caroline...This song was writen when we were on holiday in Cornwall about three years ago, Caroiline was obsessed with 'The Killers'...so Thats why she is a Victim to them 'killa beats'

Kate loves Carloine, and it wasn't meant to be offensive to Caroline. kate isn't cool, never has been, nor does she think she is.

Also, this isn't her single, its was only sold on 7" and I think only 750 copies were made. Her first single, that isn't on myspace, is fantastic, the stuff on her myspace is just her really basic stuff...What shes been working on in the studio is amazing, and I think you will be very suprised :D

I saw this video the other day and I genuinely thought it could be some brilliant Nathan Barley-esque joke. "Cara. Loine." Stunning for all the wrong reasons.

i think the video is about a girl called caroline who is just trying to fit in by basically going after the popular trend, ahem 'new rave' and i think kate nash is simply mocking this.the girl is shown to take pictures of herself,go on myspace, check her mobile phone, putting posters and badges on things, new rave related.all of this relates back to new rave and how caroline is a victim of this trend.in my opinion anyway.kate is just the narrator how i see it,she is sending a big message out to all of the trend followers that they are victims.because of how they are all so unoriginal and trying to fit in to the desired trend rather than be themselves.kate nash is portrayed as an innocent non-victim here,as she smiles as if she is glad it isn't her.

:) sam.

Elements of a manufactured house recognize it from other private homes. Trailers are lodging units worked in processing plants that are furnished with every one of the offices. It is then moved to a site for establishment on a generally perpetual site and utilized as a home. www.usacheckcashingstore.com/san-diego
