The Last Dance!

Imagine my surprise when I stopped by the Magic Marker Records website and was greeted with the completely amazing news of a new Free Loan Investments record!!! Their new Last Dance 7" EP is out now and sports FIVE unreleased, sparkling indiepop gems from Roger, Amanda, and company! I can wait for this one to show up on my doorstep – would have been a tad bit more appropriate a few months ago, but I'll take some new Free Loan songs any day of the year! Head over to Magic Marker straight away and buy the crap out of this record, because you WILL regret missing it if you do. To get you in the mood, here's a fantastic live video of "Bomb The Bourgeoisie"!

Free Loan Investments live set on YouTube!!!

I don't know about you, but I never knew these were in existence. I'd seen the other FLI videos a million times over, but I just noticed this live set from OSAKAvsTOKYO last night. I'm not sure what the date is on this, so if anyone knows, could you let me know! Under the assumption that I'm not the only who A.) loves the Free Loan Investments and B.) has never seen these videos before, I feel it my duty to share them with you!!! These are a few of the highlights, in my opinion, but you can watch the rest of the set (six more songs!) HERE.

New Song from The Garlands!

For those of you already deeply smitten with The Garlands, you'll be just as excited as I was to know they've got a new song on their MySpace today! For those not as familiar, prepare to fall in love. The Garlands are Christin Wolderth and Roger Gunnarsson; yes, the same Roger from Free Loan Investments, Nixon, and The Happy Birthdays. So, yeah, The Garlands come from a long bloodline of P!O!P perfection, and so it's only fitting that they happen to be amazing. The new song, "Why Did I Trust You?" will be on forthcoming EP that will be co-released by Cosy Recordings and Cloudberry Records, so hopefully we'll be seeing a new download on Roque's site sometime soooon! For now, though, I'd highly recommend heading over to The Garlands' MySpace and listening to this over and over again!
